Battle System

Battling is a way trainers can strengthen themselves as well as their Pokemon. It is essential to your character's progression. However, not all battles have to "count". You can have mock battles just for leveling your skills. "Real" battles are usually for a wager, such as money, a badge, honor, et cetera. On top of being able to choose the ideal combination of attacks to win your battle it's important for you to know the hit points an attack can cause and it's force do to your character's power-level.

HIT POINTS AND LIFE
You can calculate your HP/Life by taking your character's level and multiplying it by 5. Then adding their rank number after multiplying that by 2. For Elites you multiply their rank by 5 as well.
5L + 2R = HP
(Elite) 5L + 5R = HP

DEATH AND FAINTING
You may NOT kill someone else's character unless it has been agreed either between you and the other author, or you and a GM (game master). In battle once you or your Pokemon has lost all their HP they faint (unless otherwise planned). When they awaken they have half HP left. HP will regenerate to full health after an hour in game time or your character/Pokemon eat or is healed. ONLY a GM may kill off someone's character without permission. Anyone else must have approval.

TO START:
Your character's level is multiplied by 2 plus the power of your attack plus your rank number. It looks like so...
2L + A + R = AP (attack power)
After the hit points have been taken your character or Pokemon is EXPECTED to react accordingly to the attack thrown as well as experience the appropriate after-math of said attack. Weakness DOES count.

POKEMON LEVELING
It is also important to know that your Pokemon's power level will only get 2 levels higher than your character. However, the more missions you go on, the more chance there is you could receive a buff to make your Pokemon's attacks stronger despite his level.

AIMING AND POINT DEDUCTION
When you attack you have a range that you may attack (this leaves room for evasions and poor aim). That rang is one to all. This means you can choose that your Pokemon did full damage or barely hit your opponent. The higher level your opponent is the more likely your aim will be bad. This is most likely when your opponent is more than 5 levels and up to 2 ranks higher than you. If this is the case of your opponent then for every attack you must deduct your opponent's rank number from your final blow. This math is as follows:
2L + A + R = AP - OR (Opponent's Rank)
This is ONLY when you are at a great disadvantage and your opponent's level is 5 levels higher than your own AND they are at least 2 ranks higher than you.

ELITES
Elite battling works slightly differently, however. They times their level by 5 and anyone under the elite rank automatically needs to deduct the elite's level times 2 from their hit points.
2L + A + R = AP - 2OR
(Elite) 5L + A + R = AP
This is so players don't battle against someone way above their skill level. They ARE Elite for a reason.

EVASIONS
You are allowed up to 2 evasions in a row and up to 7 per battle. The more evasions you take on in a row the opponent is allowed to double their final hit point for ever time you evade.
